A paint schedule is useful to more than the person who created it, but sharing the editing key is unnecessary. PaintLog creates a manager link for the owner of the record and a separate viewer link for trusted people who only need current paint details.
Keep the manager link private
Anyone holding the manager link can edit the complete record, inspect history, rotate viewer access, close, reopen, or permanently delete the log. Save it before leaving the recovery screen and do not paste it into a public message, page, or searchable document.
Share only the read-only capability
Copy the viewer link beside its QR code and send it only to the intended trusted person. The viewer can search current records on active surfaces but cannot edit data, inspect manager-only notes, or recover the manager link.
Rotate access after the handoff
When the viewer link reaches the wrong person or a temporary handoff ends, rotate it from the manager view. The previous viewer link stops working immediately, while the manager link and stored paint history stay unchanged.
Explain what the schedule does not prove
The recipient sees information entered by link holders, not a verified manufacturer specification or proof that a paint was applied. They should test a sample because aged or faded surfaces may not match. PaintLog does not carry photos, addresses, receipts, reminders, purchasing history, or contractor records.
