During a routine rental turnover, a caretaker needs the paint used on a few ordinary interior surfaces. The owner wants to hand over those details without exposing edit access or building a tenant, contractor, document, or maintenance system.
Record paint, not the property
The log is named “Turnover paint reference”. It contains spaces such as Entry, Living room, and Bedroom, but no postal address, tenant name, photographs, inspection notes, receipts, price, lease information, or reminders.
Correct a transposed color code transparently
The living-room wall entry was typed as N-164 instead of N-146. The manager corrects it while checking the can. PaintLog keeps an append-only revision so the change is not an invisible rewrite, but the viewer sees the current corrected value.
Give the caretaker read-only access
The owner copies the viewer link beside the QR code and asks the caretaker to open it on a phone. Search finds the living-room wall by N-146 and the entry trim by its semi-gloss finish. The manager link is never shared.
Rotate the viewer link when the turnover ends
After the work, the owner rotates viewer access so the temporary link stops working. The retained record is still only a starting reference: the caretaker samples the paint before a broad repair because PaintLog does not verify manufacturer formulas or guarantee an exact match.
